Beliefs of Victory Baptist Church

We believe that God has chosen to carry out His work in our world today by means of the local church. The church is not a building or organization, but instead it is people united together in purpose, position, practice and presence.

We desire to acquaint ourselves with the people of our community and invite you to be a part of the ministry that God has entrusted to us. Our primary purpose is to be used of God to bring lost people to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“…and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;…and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ…” II Corinthians 5:18-20

About the Scripture...

We are a Bible believing congregation. We recognize the King James Bible as the inspired, preserved, and infallible word of God for the English speaking people. Our ministry is based solely on “…What saith the scripture…” Galatians 4:30.

“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalm 12:6-7

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

Method of Bible Study...

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

About Salvation…

We believe that mankind is hopelessly lost in sin and that without salvation all men will die in their sins and go to hell.

  • “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

    • We know that Jesus Christ, who was God manifest in flesh, came to earth, died on the cross to satisfy the payment demanded for our sin, and rose again on the third day.

  • “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
  • “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

    • We believe all men need to be saved and can be if they will repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:31
  • “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10

    • We believe salvation is a completed work by our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

    • We believe that once a person is saved, he is eternally secure.

  • “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6
